Though Romeo has never talked to Juliet, he is determined to seek her out and know if she loves him as well. Romeo refers to Juliet’s beauty on many occasions and swears his love for her mere hours after they meet. Romeo is blinded by love, risking the danger of being caught by the Capulet’s and killed outside of Juliet’s balcony.

It’s really sad that all of this could have been avoided if Juliet would’ve just left with Romeo or if their families gave up their hatred for one another. Then they meet, fall in love and get married.
He pushes them into a hasty secret marriage, without the knowledge or permission of their warring parents. This sets the stage for the secrets that create the tragedy to come. Unable to face the banishment for killing Tybalt, Romeo seeks the advice of Friar Lawrence who scolds him for his despair, “Hast thou slain Tybalt? Wilt thou slay thyself, and slay thy lady that in thy life lives by doing damned hate upon thyself?” (3, 3, 116,) then when Romeo is at his lowest, Friar Lawrence cheers him up, suggesting a comforting visit to his Juliet and then his escape. “Go, get thee to thy love, as was decreed.
They decided to get married after their “love fest” in the garden, and this is where their adventure began. The first archetype I have chosen for Romeo was a rebel. Romeo fits this archetype because he is inclined to resist authority and the authority that he is going against is his families’ laws. Romeo is courting Juliet discreetly behind their families back. Romeo is not supposed to have any dealings with her, yet he still fights for love.

By some vile forfeit of untimely death.” (Act 1, Scene 4, 107) In this scene Romeo had a gut feeling that going to this party would cause his “untimely death.” But, because of his stubbornness he had ignored it, and still went to the Capulet (His enemies’) party where he met Juliet. If he had not attended the party, he wouldn’t have met Juliet and he potentially wouldn’t have died. Later in the play, Balthasar (a servant of Romeo) reveals to Romeo that Juliet is dead. “Hast thou no letters to me from the friar?” (Act 5, 1, 51) Romeo was specifically told to wait for Friar Laurence’s letter, but stubborn Romeo, neglects this advice and decides to head to Mantua anyway.
Furthermore, when Romeo is expressing his love for Juliet he states “My life were better ended by their hate,/ Than Death prorogued, wanting of thy love." (2.2.77-78). This scene is only the second time Romeo and Juliet meet, which shows the audience how immense their love is for each other. During this scene, Juliet tells Romeo that she would like to marry him, and Romeo agrees. However, Romeo states that he would rather die because of the Capulets hate, then be alive and fight for their love.
Love is an overpowering force that takes over all other values, loyalties and emotions. Love that is powerful and drawing between Romeo and Juliet is as potent and destructive in its effect on relationships between families and friends. Romeo falls madly in love with Juliet at a party hosted by the Capulets. Juliet initially tries to resist his charm when she becomes aware that their families are fierce rivals creating a dilemma, however she is unable to do so. The situation is complicated by Juliet being betrothed to Paris by her father, Lord Capulet, against her wishes.
The feud between the two families keeps the star-crossed lovers from being with each other. Juliet knows there is a connection between her and Romeo. She has no doubt in her mind that they are not right for each other. Juliet tells Romeo that if he truly loves her then to send their wedding arrangements to her. Romeo sends the place and time of their wedding to Juliet.
At the balcony scene both Romeo and Juliet confess their love for each other, and then decide to get married the next morning. “O, wit thou leave me so unsatisfied?” (2.2.136). Because of rushing their love and getting married so quickly, they both ended up facing consequences. Also, when Romeo slays Tybalt for Mercutio’s death, Romeo is banished from Verona by the Prince. “And for that offense / immediately we do exile him hence.
