Miss Schwartz is a people pleaser, and she must learn to treat herself with dignity. Multiple times in the story Miss Schwartz does not take responsibility for her actions. After taking the dress from the department store Lena is not sure about bringing the dress back. The narrator states, “she would have gone back with the dress, but did not know how to go about it.” Miss Schwartz knows that it is wrong to steal, but she does not truly want to return the dress. To take the blame off herself she makes up the excuse
The foster mother of the second home was a very mean, cruel and verbally abusive to April. They would say things to April and she started to believe that they were true, like her parents been drunks and not wanting her or her sister anymore, telling her that First Nations people were dirty and thief’s. April graduates from school and had good grades in her classes. She then marries and moves away to start her life with her husband. After been married for some time she ends up having issues in her marriage.
The narrative “No Tears for Frankie” by Gena Greenlee uses multiple rhetorical strategies to illuminate how bullying and sexual harassment can occur between kids in their tween years. The narrative tells a short story about a when she was a little girl was sexually harassed by a boy named Frankie. When he dies in a sudden accident she recalls the multiple incidents of harassment done by Frankie leading up to his death and why she feels no remorse. Greenlee effectively uses comparison, description, and classification to help get a better understanding of the pain and despair she felt as a little girl in her days of being harassed by Frankie. Greenlee uses comparison to show the differences between her and Frankie and how maybe these differences made her an easy target for Frankie.
bullying comes in many different forms: physical, verbal, indirect, exclusion and cyber. physical bullying involves harming someone on the outside. this could be biting, slapping, kicking or punching. physical bullying is seen in Mean Girls when the teenagers are seen fighting like wild animals over the pages from the “Burn book”. as each girl finds a photocopy from the book about herself, she launches on another girl she suspects wrote it.
Momentarily afterwards, Chillingworth, Hester’s husband, is seen in the crowd, and introduced. After the public display of Hester, Chillingworth and Hester make a deal, in which her crime of adultery would be forgiven by Chillingworth if she would keep his identity a secret, since he rabidly seeks revenge toward the father of the baby. The rest of the story tells of the interactions between the three. In the end, Dimmesdale dies after confessing his sin, Chillingworth dies in a short period of time after Dimmesdale, and Hester lives on alone helping out the less fortunate of the town. Although Hester made the decision of committing adultery, the reason she lives on is her dealing with the scarlet letter that she is given to exhibit to the town.
The book Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson explores these 3 elements in great detail, capturing real events that we can all relate to happening in our own childhood. Bullying is prevalent throughout Bridge to Terabithia. It is shown in the character of Janice Avery. Janice is a girl that comes from an abusive home, like most bullies of today. Janice tries to intimidate all students, verbally, physically and emotionally by taking their money to use the toilets, stealing their food and pushing students around on the bus.
Xuan tells Cici she just has a big fight with her boyfriend. At the beginning, Cici just listens and trys to say something to make the Xuan feel better. However, after few minutes, Cici is much affected by the Xuan. They start to complain their boyfriend together. After a while they both decided to call their boyfriend for break up.
In the song he asks his wife why she as; “Why Are You Running Away?” and “How Could You Go?”. He accuses her for running away, but maybe he left her a long time ago mentally. In the start of the song he sings that she shall remember all the flowers he sent, but then his mood changes and he says that he wants to beat her to a pulp. This shows us that Pink has a very divided mind. Pink’s time in school was hard for him.
However the wife leaves, confining the husband to his home alone. In this poem the husband takes on a stereotypical role in the marriage by being the stronger person of the relationship. He strives for control of the situation and pretends to not care much that he just buried his son. He hides his emotions and changes the subject to the rot he found on the fence. At first he wonders why his wife is crying and becomes angry with him, but once she explodes at him, confessing all her feelings, and threatens to leave him, he states that, “There, you have said it all and you feel better.
Annabelle is having a hard time accepting the fact that her father and mother aren’t together anymore and her father has been replaced with Stan. Stan makes her uncomfortable and she doesn’t like the way he behaves as a replacement for her father.“Stan read the letter.
