They have a big fight on their mother’s fortieth birthday because Flora had stolen and ruined Rachel’s favorite dress, and Rachel got furious and angry at her. The forty-year-old mother with stands of grey hair in her black hair and faint lines around her eyes has two beautiful daughters, Rachel and Flora. The mother is divorced since the father doesn’t live with them, so she is a single mother and she is a bereavement counselor. She works with persons who are dealing with sorrow and helps them with their problems. The mother is tired of her work, it is too sad for her; “She felt sorry for herself. All day she had sat with tearful needy people. It was her birthday, and wanted to relax.
