The disintegration of the family could result in the disintegration of society What is a family? A family is a group of people, usually a father a mother and children, joined by a “blood relationship” or legal relationship like marriage or adoption. The family is the first group of people that a child has and gets brought up in. The primary role of a family is to introduce their children to the society and educate them. Apart from those two roles, I think the most important job of a family for a child is love. Every kid needs to be loved by his/her family in order to, one day, create a family him/herself. Today’s family The family plays a very important role, a fundamental one in today’s society. Nowadays there are three new family types: a “common law family”, a one-parent family and a reconstituted family. The first one is a family constituted by two parents, not bounded by marriage. Since these families are not considered as “actual families” by the country, they could have some legal problems; if one day the couple breaks up, the children would not be supervised by the law. A one parent family, as the name already anticipates, is a family brought up only by one parent. Those families are in deep risks as there is only one parent supporting the family. Finally we have the reconstituted families, that are families recomposed after a divorce. Every day we hear more and more about divorces and how the family is disintegrating. But what are the reasons for that? First of all every family crisis occurs when a family encounters a problem that they can’t solve. The problem can be of any kind, but the most common ones are: relationship problems, financial problems or an unwanted pregnancy. The last one is a very frightening problem that U.K. is facing every day. In fact, the U.K. has the highest pregnancy rate among teenagers in Europe. Another thing about U.K.
