The Consumption of Water in Young Individuals During the process of growing up, it is important for young individuals to consume a lot of water. In order to stay healthy, children and teenagers should drink a certain amount of water every day. While working in a Nursing home, I have learned many benefits of drinking water and what can occur when enough isn't consumed. Water is the most important need for young bodies to function correctly. It is needed to perform daily activities and to keep bodies in motion. Water can prevent a lot of health related problems from occurring in the present or in the future. There are many reasons why water is the most important daily need. I am for young individuals consuming a lot of water because I believe that they need to drink it to stay healthy. Whether you are a young individual that drinks a lot of water, little, or none at all, you will learn numerous reasons of why you need to consume it every day. The normal amount of water that should be consumed every day is 8-eight ounce glasses. "Water is involved in all body processes. You need the proper amount for all those processes to work correctly” (Guralnik). The most important reason that young individuals need to drink a lot of water is to stay hydrated. Being hydrated means that your body is functioning correctly and normally. Although juices have a lot of healthy ingredients in them to help you stay hydrated, I believe that water is the main liquid that needs consumed the most. Water helps to absorb the nutrients in your body and keeps you hydrated by doing so. It helps you digest food more quickly and washes out some of the unhealthy products that you consume. Staying hydrated is needed to perform every day tasks. Little, or no water can cause dehydration of your body.
