The city of Lakes, Udaipur is a lovely blend of water, lush green hills that set fire and passion in poet. Its palaces are straight out of a fairy-tale book, lakes, forts, palaces, temples, gardens, mountains and narrow lanes lines withdrawn with stalls, relives the reminisces of a heroic past, valor and chivalry. Their reflection in the placid waters of the Lake Pichola is excitement that defines imagination. Udaipur is the citadel of Mewar - a kingdom ruled by the Sisodia dynasty for 1200 Years. Udaipur is one of the most romantic cities of world, also know as the Venice of East. It has five beautiful lakes, stunning royal palaces, forts, garden, temples, mountains, gardens and above all, you'll find a variety of hotels and restaurants here. A panoramic glimps einto the city of chivalry, mesmerising bauty, would definitely entice anyone to fall in love with the city of dreams. A small journey is what I would like to go aong with: City Palace - A majestic architectural marvel towering over the lake on a hill surrounded by crenellated walls, it is a conglomeration of courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors, rooms and hanging gardens. The main entrance is through the triple arched gate, the ‘Tripolia’ with eight marble porticos. The ‘Mor Chowk’ known for its exquisite peacock mosaics in glass and the ‘Chini Chitrashala’ noted for its blue and white ceramics are other attractions in the palace. Jag Mandir Island - The lovely palace was built by Maharan Karan Singh as a hideout for Shah Jahan ( Prince Khurram), This palace inspiried him to built the lovely Taj Mahal. It is located in the lake Pichola, it has lovely garden & has exquisite carving which worth to see. You can visit the palace (Entry fee - Rs. 175/-) & have dinner there.
