For example in “Destroying Avalon” Avalon had to face the death of her best friend Marshall who took his own life because of being bullied for so many years and not letting anyone to support him through his tough times. “Marshall is dead” was repeated in the book to emphasize the feeling of grief Avalon faced. In “The Colour Purple” death and loss is shown when both Celie’s children are taken away from her at birth and is given the impression that they where killed. Bullying occurs the day you are born by society determining colours, interest and behaviours that suit the type of gender you are. However bullying doesn’t really show it’s self until we go to school, this style of bullying can be verbal, physical or electronic.
He sent this to his teacher by email. The story explained that he did not have a gun so the best way would be to hang his self. The teacher read the story and failed to contact his parents and the school’s principal. A week later he committed suicide by hanging himself. The student’s parents sued the teacher and board for negligence as they failed to recognize the signs of suicide and failed to contact them.
Both the townspeople and the players live for the game. The head coach, Eric Taylor, and his family are the primary focus of the show, along with the lead football players, who are stereotypically portrayed at the beginning of the series. Jason Street, the stereotypical allAmerican football quarterback, suffered a career-ending injury in the first episode of the series. This led him to deal with many difficult challenges as him and his head cheerleader girlfriend, Lyla Garrity, try to get their lives back in order after the accident. Tim Riggins is the bad boy in town, and Jason’s best friend.
It is not about being a mere spectator, but about being a participant. Such is the intensity of the experience that two thirds of the fans have cried at football matches. Mostly of joy, but occasionally of despair. 44 percent of parents say they’re uncomfortable with their children playing football, but yet they haven’t decided to keep their children form putting on a helmet and stepping onto the field. Only five percent said they have discouraged their child from playing in the last two years as concern over head injuries has increased at all levels of the game.
He was my grade seven football coach. I will always remember his patince, and how he somehow read my mind when I was having a bad day. Not only was he a fantastic person, but a remarkable football coach who I have learned a great deal from. One day I hope to be a coach, but will follow from his example, and hopefully brook the qualities of what it takes to make a good football

One day, Joel and his father were outside; Joel's father was certain that he saw someone out there, but Joel, Jr., couldn't see anything. A moment later, Joel's father disappeared; he was never heard from again.
[3] He was limbless, missing both arms at shoulder level, as well as legless. His feet were toeless except for two toes on one foot. Initially, his parents were devastated, though Vujicic was otherwise healthy. Originally prohibited by Victoria state law from attending a mainstream school because of his physical disability, even though he was not mentally impaired, Vujicic became one of the first disabled students integrated into a mainstream school, once the laws changed. [4] Bullied at school, Vujicic grew depressed and by the age of 8, contemplated suicide.
When thinking about Zachary’s High School and all of the Stereotypes listed, the feeling of him not fitting in with anyone gives the tone a depressing, almost sad emotion. Tone plays a huge role throughout the story, but is really shown in the beginning and end; when Zachery commits suicide. Characterization comes into play in Life After High School. An example of characterization would be how “Sunny” Burhman (Barbara Burhman) got her name. “…Her teacher had said, to all the class, in one of those moments of inspiration that can alter by whim, the course of an entire life, ‘Tell you what, boys and girls- let’s call Barbara ‘Sunny’ from now on- that’s what she is” (Page 578).
