A thirteen year old boy named Langston Hughes was saved from sin, but was not really saved. The author states how his aunt's church was having a big revival with singing, praising, and shouting. Langston Hughes explained how the preacher wanted all the young children to come into the fold, so they can be saved and give themselves to Jesus. The writer explains how he wanted to see, speak, and feel Jesus come to him, but he never got that feeling from Jesus.
Without fear, they were thrown into the fire, and in the fire, they found the Jesus was with them, even the king recognized the face of the Jesus. Again, God did not leave His servants alone, He protects people who wanted His protection. Can you imagine how happy it is if you found Jesus beside you when you were in danger or depression? Sometimes, people may think God left them, however, the truth is, unless you leave God, God will never leave you. God will never leave unless you turn Him away.

There is no need to be scared to go to heaven because heaven is a better and more peaceful place. I believe in this essay Jonathan Edwards tries to scare you to be afraid of the lord and it actually causes the feeling of the peaceful and loving god you believe in into someone to be scared of. If you believe in Christ you shouldn’t be afraid and later throughout my essay you will find out why. Everyone will be held through the same punishment in the time the lord shall come but it wouldn’t be anything dramatic. If you believe in him and read the bible correctly god
Revenge is “a pagan concept deeply embedded in most societies but at odds with Christian teaching” (Bevington 550). By having an abortion, the mothers are, in fact, committing another sin. In Exodus 20:13, God clearly states that murder is wrong. Some that participate in this injustice may rationalize that one cannot be murdered until he is born, but the Bible plainly teaches in Job 31:15 that life begins in the womb.
