Comparison and Contrast of The Bike and The Automobile Jessica Gordon Eng 121 Instructor King August 22, 2011 The Bike and The Automobile A bike is an early invention for transportation purposes, however; a new invention hit the marked which made travel much more faster. This invention is the automobile. Bikes and cars are great ways of transportation. Both of these, like all vehicles, take you from one place to another. It just depends on your preferences. Money, time, and exercise. As you can see cars and bikes are somewhat alike but yet also different. And each has its own type and standard of people as well as its different uses and forms. Bikes and cars are two of the many ways of transportation. Both can be used to drive people to places they want to go to without walking. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages. Cars are more advanced and comfortable then bikes are, but the use of bicycles is still very high. Most people however choose a vehicle for transportation. Cars have many accessories that bikes do not have. For example, cars these days have anything from radio, CD players, navigational systems, and even TVs. It is impossible for a bike to have all these comforting features. Another major difference is that the car has a roof and windows to protect you from all kinds of weather. The bike on the other hand is not very protective against any type of weather. A bike is somewhat similar to the automobile though. Bikes move just like a car does; on wheels. They both have some kind of way of controlling the direction of travel. They both also have lights for night time trips. The bike has a bell which is similar to the horn in a car. They are both used for transportation and other purposes and both have brakes for stopping.
