P1/M1 Lifestyle factors and their effects on health Lifestyle factors that can affect health are physical activity, alcohol, smoking, stress and diet. Physical Activity Physical activity is any movement or activity that requires your body to work harder than it does while sitting, or resting. Physical activity can affect health in a good way. Benefits of physical activity are it lowers the risk of heart attacks because exercise makes the heart bigger and stronger meaning it doesn't have to work as hard which puts less stress on the body. It increases aerobic endurance which is good because it means exercise can be done for longer and the heart can be further strengthened.
For example, regular brisk walking can help you: • Maintain a healthy weight • Prevent or manage various conditions, including heart disease, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes • Strengthen your bones • Lift your mood • Improve your balance and coordination The faster, farther and more frequently you walk, the greater the benefits. Walking and biking are both excellent forms of cardiovascular exercise which, when performed regularly, can ward off disease, shed pounds, improve mental outlook and reduce the likelihood of dying young. Each have their merits and drawbacks, and which is the best choice for you largely depends upon what you'll enjoy doing most, the health of your joints and how much weight you'd like to lose. “Like walking, biking is low-impact and easy. It's also fun, and according to NutriStrategy, burns a lot of calories - significantly more than brisk walking.” (Bigelow) You’d be forgiven for wondering but stair climbing can have a significant and positive impact on an individual’s health over time.
Research suggests that creatine improves strength and performance in teenagers who were already in shape and highly-trained for their sport. It is safe, but users should always look at label directions and follow manufacturer's suggestions when considering creatine. Although the supplement can help build muscle, creatine has many negative affects on the human body. Studies have shown that the long term use of creatine is not healthy. It can lead to many different factors such as: chronic heart failure, heart disease, bone density, depression, dialysis, high cholesterol, spinal cord injury, or memory loss.
Staying physically active and exercising regularly can help prevent or delay many diseases and disabilities (a) exercise can make Cardiorespiratory system more efficient. Regular exercise makes the heart stronger and the lungs fitter, enabling the cardiovascular system to deliver more oxygen to the body with every heartbeat and the pulmonary system to increase the maximum amount of oxygen that the lungs can take in. Exercise lowers blood pressure, decreases the levels of total and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (the bad cholesterol), and increases the level of high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (the good cholesterol) These beneficial effects in turn decrease the risk of heart attack, stroke, and coronary artery disease. (B) there is a general decline muscle in skeletal muscle strength and bulk in old age which relates to a reduction in both size and number of muscle fiber. Exercise can significantly increase Muscle strength and as well as the fast twitch fiber, which improve the speed of response and quality of muscle activity, and help prevent injuries and falls.
Play time can also become a family experience which serves to bond family members together and allow adult members an opportunity to model healthy exercise habits for children. Exercise also helps young children develop a healthy self-image and positive self-esteem as they take pride in their physical accomplishments. The exhilaration that comes with running, laughing, and playing can also boost a child's mood. This leads to one of the most important reasons kids should play outside: its fun! When children do exercise it can benefit from regular exercise because if they are active they will have stronger muscles and bones.
Also the ability of the body healing itself without medicine is improved. Health If you lead a healthy lifestyle it can have a massive affect on your health. If you’re doing what’s needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle such as doing daily activites, eating healthier foods and drinking lots of water it can have a very positive affect on your whole body. Doing daily activites can benefit your health by strengthening your bones. If you go on running activites this can and has been proven to fight against the aging process and prevents muscle and bone loss that normally occur with age.
So, in order to maintain lifelong wellness, we have to maintain all of these dimensions of health. Physical health is the ability to perform the normal activities of daily living (Hales 4). For example, my daily walking is a form of physical fitness that will create better physical health; this helps build up my muscles and allows my blood to run smooth through my body. Also, walking creates weight loss that will improve my overall health. People with good physical health will have a lower chance of getting sick because the physical health in their body will help build up the immune system to help protect them from sickness.
You create slight injuries to the fibres of your muscle tissue as you exercise. These injuries makes your body to adjust and change by building back bigger and stronger fibres as the area get better through a process called hypertrophy. Overtime, these internal changes can be seen apparently as bigger muscles, particularly if weight is placed on pectorals, abdominals, arm muscles like biceps and triceps, and leg muscles. Cardiovascular changes Strengthening your cardiovascular system is one of the most vital benefits of exercise, as far as your overall health is concerned. Exercise increases your heart rate, which strengthens your heart HDL (high density lipids) “good" cholesterol and reducing your triglycerides, which can help lessen the buildup of arterial plaque.
There are many benefits from steroid use. To begin, athletes will attain a greater increase muscle mass and reduced fat. When it is used with a combination of rigorous training and the drug, the results are sometimes overwhelming. A major benefit of the steroid use is that the athlete's body suffers fewer breakdowns. This decrease in muscle breakdown and lower recovery time permits more frequent training sessions at higher intensity and for longer periods of time.
Not exercising can cause more serious issues then you think. Not only will you gain weight over time, but you have greater risk of diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer. For those who do exercise, they get the benefits that all could get. The benefits are the decreased blood pressure, live a longer life, have a better mood, less risk to obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. The reason why those who exercise live, because they are not getting fat over time as someone would be by just sitting at the couch all day.
