On the other end, when people buy clothes from thrift stores, they’re also indirectly helping the environment by using something again instead of supporting the pollution that factories put out when they manufacture clothing. Sometimes the profits of certain thrift stores may actually even go to environmental cleanup or other similar causes. By both recycling clothing and preventing further pollution, thrift stores are great for the environment. It’s great to shop at thrift stores because depending on the thrift store, the money usually goes to a good cause. Salvation Army and Goodwill are great examples of chain thrift stores that send their profits directly to their charities.
