(“The Most Preventable Causes of Death in the U.S”) The way to prevent these deaths are exercising and eating healthy . However Approximately 1 out of 2 Americans are low income or poor according to the census bureau. ( WASHINGTON AP) Food prices are continuously rising, especially healthy food. How can the average American be healthy when they can't afford healthy food and if they can how do they what is healthy .
Al Capone cornered the market for alcohol sales by killing anyone that got the way of his elaborate smuggling schemes and distribution of alcohol through the streets of Chicago. Al Capone put himself in a position of power by having a strong business plan. If any public official got in his way, he would either bribe or kill them. If the police got in his way, Capone would bribe or kill them. Usually, if a citizen bought liquor from another distributor, Capone would have him killed.
A solution to the Amex problem would be to temporarily shut down their company since they can’t handle being truthful to consumers based on their false advertising about the Blue Sky program. Temporarily shutting down the company would address the problem by making Amex realize what they are doing to consumers isn’t okay. The government has a federal agency called the Division of Advertising Practices that need to monitor advertisements more carefully because the government needs to stop these crimes immediately.The government should step up solving these crimes faster because Georgia Peanuts was selling salmonella-infested peanut butter to the public for MONTHS before the government did anything. The first step to banning drugs was the Pure Food and Drug Act. This required patent medicines to label all of the ingredients in their products. Many of the smaller businesses were bankrupted because of this act but over hundreds of thousands of addicts remained. Companies like Coca-Cola almost were shut down because they didn’t want to stop putting Cocaine into their product (Johnson). The next step to banning drugs was the Heroin Tax Act.

Banning the Use of Cigarettes The ban of cigarettes is an ongoing debate in many states. There are currently 25 states and DC that have smoke free laws ("25"). Cigarettes are one of the top killers in the United States and all over the world. Just in the 21st century alone there have been 1 billion deaths due to cigarettes (“Tobacco”). Cigarettes are also one of the top purchased items in the world.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, obesity in adults has increased 60% within the past twenty years and obesity in children has tripled in the past thirty years. A staggering 33% of American adults are obese and obesity related deaths have climbed to more than 300,000 a year. Lawmakers have even tried to impose a new tax rule called the “Twinkie tax”, which would tax unhealthy foods to try to persuade people out of buying them.
Native Americans used tobacco for religious and medical reasons, they did not use it everyday. Tobacco was the first crop grown for money in North America by the 1800s. Many people started using tobacco on the average, 40 cigarettes were smoked a year. The opposing side may say cigarettes can keep a person relaxed from stress but it’s really harming to the human body, smoking tobacco causes disease and lung cancer. It has been the most deadliest drug for years.
