Communication – Service User Some of our service users have varied degrees of understanding and process information at different levels; this can sometimes cause barriers when communicating, giving information or instruction. There are a number of methods to overcome these barriers, some of which can be to keep summarising and reflecting on what is being said with the service user until they understand what is needed of them, to use non verbal gestures, body language, face expressions, lip reading, and colour coding, visual, pictorial, written & reading to the service user, hearing loop, and interrupter were possible.
