Thailand Toothpaste Company On earth, there are a lot of people with different skin colors, hair colors, eye colors, society rank, gender and languages. Some people think that this is the definition of the word “Race” while others think that the entire world belongs to human race. Everybody has the right to choose if they belong to any race but the important thing is that racism is avoided. This is not the case when we look that a lot of murders or homicide are due to racism (“Bureau”). In media, a lot of company tried to avoid it, but some others are using it to sell their product. This is the case of a company, unknown name because it is written in Thai, which does toothpaste in Thailand. The commercial of this company implies racism through the slogan, actions done by comedian and by scenes. Here is a brief summary of the commercial. At the beginning, a little Thai girl is crying because her balloon is stuck on top of a spot light measuring roughly fifty meters. Then, a huge black man arrives and climbs up the pole and gets the balloon for the little girl. At this point, the company tries to be not racist. When he get down, the young girl’s mother comes and get her away from the black man (probably because she is racist). After those events, we see the man walking on the pavement alone with the balloon with a sad song in the background. When he gets home, he releases the balloon and this one reaches the ceiling where eight other balloons were standing. He finally goes to bed and then we see that the bed is a toothbrush. Finally he transforms himself in tooth paste and another level of camera comes and a slogan appears with the box of toothpaste saying: «Appearance can be deceiving» (“Banned”).
