Introduction The events of September 11th 2001 have cause a major alteration in the world. After 9/11 many countries throughout the world have increased security in airports and country borders, and increased security in main areas of major cities. The biggest consequence of 9/11 however was the USA’s war on terror. The war on terror was started with the objective of recognizing, finding and destroying terrorists, denying sponsorships to terrorist organizations and defending people all over the world from future terrorist attacks. However, the USA’s war on terror has had a negative effect on many countries in the world as well as their own, and their citizens by creating animosity in the international community, causing a downturn in their own economy and their major allies, and ruining their international reputation.
Could our government have masterminded this horrific crime? Actually, I believe they did, I personally believe that the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and the crashing of Flight 93 does not accurately add up to it’s ashes. On September 11, 2001 the media/government reported that terrorists hi-jacked two U.S. commercial airplanes that struck the World Trade Center. Although how could the terrorist successively pass through security and board a plane with weapons, especially after the D.B. Cooper incident?
Many individuals in the United States including Middle-Eastern males have been a subject to racial profiling. Racial profiling has increased dramatically since September 11th, 2001 and Homeland Security has deliberately wasted valuable time and resources when profiling ethic individuals of terrorist activities. As the director of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office Caroline Fredrickson once said, “Racial and ethnic profiling are not only wrong, but they don’t work. The time and resources spent by DHS rounding up, interrogating and investigating innocent American immigrants could have been spent dealing with actual threats to our country” (ACLU). Another type of racial profiling occurred when Homeland Security and law enforcement officials passed a law indicating U.S citizenship was one of a job requirement for certain job position.
People always debate — maybe what we know is the truth, or maybe we will never know the truth of who was the mastermind of 9/11. For each fact supporting that 9/11 was a terrorist attack, there will be an anti-fact that will prove otherwise, claiming it was a well staged plan of the US government. Works Cited Fahrenheit 911. Dir. Michael Moore.
Many believe that the Iraq war was a fatal mistake and it actually heightened terrorist activities. So, Post 9/11, US had become a war mongering country in the name of fighting
Over 6,000 lives, most of them American, have been lost because of his actions. Many Muslims have now been given a stereo type of being “violent terrorists,” just because of the alacrities of a handful of extremists. Due to bin Laden’s interfering with the United States, they abortively invaded Afghanistan, punching a dent in President Bush’s presidency, and throwing the economy into turmoil. Any hope of returning to the former lifestyle that Americans had once enjoyed has been long dissipated. Al-Qaeda, the terrorist group that he founded in the early 1980’s, has been encouraging other minor terrorists to take action, making the world an over-all more dangerous place to live.
Controversial acts were passed in an effort to control terrorism, the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act was passed by George Bush shortly after 9/11 to make it easier for the government to access personal information like; phone conversations, emails, and other private information. It also gives them the power to detain anyone who they suspect of terrorism for up to one week. The freedoms and privacy of all Americans have been curtailed because of this act. Even though most Americans are not terrorists, simply knowing that the government has these new powers and abilities to invade on their privacy is bothersome

Habeas Corpus can only be suspended during times of rebellion and if there is an invasion of public safety. Examples of these times is during the Civil War and the war on terror against the KKK. The violating of this right has not been the most severe of the civil liberties granted to not only Americans but many other countries. The biggest violation of this right was when the Busch administration held hundreds of suspected terrorist from the Afghan and Iraqi terror attacks of 9/11. The first real act of Habeas Corpus comes from the passage of the Habeas Corpus Act of 1867 through
