Nicholas Picard Technology of Daily Life In this day and age, parents often warn their children not to spend too much time on the computer, the television, or their phones. Many people are confronted with daily dilemmas regarding how much time is spent on the computer. It is the great supporter of human development, and the great detriment to human endeavor. Humans are becoming daily less aware of the influence that technology has on their lives. Technology is greatly taken for granted in daily life, because we get so used to having access to all of the modern machines that we do not notice it until they is taken away and then we cannot function properly because we don’t know what to do without it. As a tool for learning and for the development of different aspects of our lives, technology has huge potential. Digital technologies like computers, the Internet, and mobile devices bring huge amounts of information directly to our fingertips. In a few seconds, we can access virtual databases on just about any topic that interest you. At schools computers and the internet are often used for collecting information and creating presentations. In the past few years, Google Drive has become predominant as a program for students to use for making projects and presentations. Students rely on Google Drive and times when the web is not functioning properly, often times students mess around instead of finding another program to use. Whenever a writing assignment is assigned to the students, there will often be at least one student who asks if they will have computers to work on for that class, and, even if just one student asks out loud most are asking the same question in their head, because they are so dependant on using computers for everything in class, whether it be that they find computers to be
