In an ever advancing world, we are constantly being bombarded with new technology. One of the most life changing pieces of technology was the personal computer. Throughout the past decade computers have advanced even more and almost everyone has one of their own or access to one at places like a school or library. With the ability to obtain vast amounts of information so simply with just a few clicks, the computer seems like such a great object. Although the computer is fantastic in many ways and has helped improve civilization’s way of living, have people all over the world come to rely on this device too much?
Evaluate the impact of growth and increasing diversity of the new media in society ‘New media’ is a term, which is constantly evolving, and on a daily basis, encompassing more as well as newer and innovative elements in it. In simple terms, it is the opposite of ‘traditional media’, which includes print, television and film, and radio. According to New Media Basics, new media is effectively interactive, and it includes a host of communication mechanisms that revolve around the Internet, and include features such as e-mail, social networks, websites, blogs, online videos and pictures etc. And new media also includes new media devices and technologies such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones, and a host of other devices, which also includes smartphones. The new media has reformed society as the delivery of media content has caused the growth and increased diversity in society.
I would definitely say that Comedy Central's Daily Show with Jon Stewart and the Colbert Report are part of the "media" that affects people’s opinion. These television shows are a way to provide comedic relief to the issues our economy faces; however, these shows still have an impact of how the viewer will understand an issue at hand. It is very difficult for anyone to be completely unbiased and with constantly hearing other people’s opinion through the media. We cannot make a decision of how “we” feel about the topic. Thus, democracy and a fair voting group become tainted.
