Claim 1: Students rely on technology to carry out academic tasks Counterclaim: Students use unreliable sources and plagiarize Claim 2: Students are unaware of the rulesof the grammar Counterclaim: Students have read more and so are more exposed to the language Claim 3: Students become less diligent in carrying out written tasks Counterclaim: Students are getting more work done Refutation: However, technology saves time and sometimes money. Access to information should improve performance. The digital era has seen the advent of new technology software and electronic deviceswhich has led to an outright dependence on these devices to totally carry out academic tasks and several other duties. Also, textbooks and some face to face consultations have decreased due to the dependence on technology. Hence, I agree with the statement that students have become overly dependent on technology as they embark on their academic journey. Technology is efficient and accessible; it enhances educational growth and social development in students globally. Likewise, since the use of technology is permitted and endorsed in homes and schools by parents and teacherschildren will have unlimited exposure to them as they enhance students learning process.
