Technology has created major changes in our daily lives and has changed the relationships we have with businesses and organizations. Most organizations and businesses have adapted different technologies to not only carry out their work activities in an efficient manner but to also make customer experience quick, easy, and satisfying. The fact behind such rapid adaption of technology is due to its speedy and fast accessibility to any kind of information. It has made life easier by providing its best and rapid solutions. Technology allows businesses to deliver goods and services whenever and wherever the customer wants them. You can order books and clothes, arrange a home mortgage loan, and buy music or a car online, anytime you choose. (Nickels, 2013). We can look at the operational activities of a bank as an example of how technology has changed the relationships we have with certain businesses. In the past, the customer had to depend on the working hours of their bank in order to conduct several different transactions including, but not limited to, depositing checks, withdrawing funds, transferring money, or even opening an account. Today, technology has brought about major revolutions within the operational process of a bank by providing internet banking, mobile banking and many more services that are accessible through a secure website established by the bank. More importantly, customers are not restricted to the operational hours of the bank in order to handle their affairs. Personally, I cannot remember the last time I went into my bank, except for using the ATM there, and needed to see a teller or customer service to handle my business matters. While I absolutely love the convenience that technology has provided, I must admit that society has become so dependent on technology that social interaction has become quite limited, and in some cases, obsolete.
