Renard Coats Intro to Networking NT1210T Lab 2.2. Network Drives Exercise 2.2.1 If an organization has 30 users, each with his or her own PC, what is the comparative cost of buying a $ 120 printer for each user versus the cost of buying a single , higher-capacity $500 printer that can cost of having two additional backup printers for the office compared to having individual printers? How many shared printers can be purchases and still be less expensive than individual printers? 30 users X $120 for the price of each printer = $3600 30users use a $500 printer Difference is $3100 savings using one printer The drawbacks to having only a single printer are too much information loading at the printer causing it to crash. Two back up printers $1000 VS 30 users X $120 for the price of each printer = $3600 30 users X $120 for the price of each printer = $3600 DIVIDED BY $500 printer = 7 printers can bought and still be less expensive than each user getting individual printers Exercise 2.2.2 If each of the 30 users in an organization prints an average of 22 pages per hour and a shared printer has the capacity to print 180 pages per hour, how many shared printers will be needed to prevent overloading each printer’s capacity?
The layout can be: One page per day Two days per page One week to view Two weeks to view Considerations to be made when choosing which layout best suits you, your Manager or your office in general is how many entries are likely to be made in one day. If it is a really busy office then the one page per day would be the better option. A huge dis-advantage of this system is that the diary has to stay in the office so if differing people would like to make entries, they would have to ring into the office if they are out to check that the time of their appointment is convenient. A wall planner can also be used. These are usually large laminated charts in which holidays of the staff are plotted so everyone in the office can see when they are off or each other or when it suits the office for them to be off.
The goal is to minimize both downtime and data loss. You have already implemented the following backup strategies for workstation computers: All desktop workstations were originally installed from a single image for Ken 7 Windows standard workstations. The base image is updated with all patches and new software installed on live workstations. Storage utilization in the SAN-based environment has increased from 50 to 85 percent, a key factor in supporting company growth. Storage allocation that used to take two to three days can now be done in a few minutes simply by making storage capacity available to an application. Backup windows also have been significantly reduced. For example, one 700 gigabyte database used to take 12 to14 hours to backup to tape libraries over a weekend, with the database down the entire time. Today, backing up that database to disk takes only 30 minutes, a 96% reduction in backup time.

“Electronic health records facilitate greater access to the information providers need to diagnose health problems earlier and improve the health outcomes of their patients. Electronic health records also allow information to be shared more easily among doctors' offices, hospitals, and across health systems, leading to better coordination of care.” (Meaningful Use, 2013) The last benefit of EMR, as outlined by Menaingful Use, is patient empowerment. This is perhaps the most revolutionary part of the law. Today’s health care landscape does not give a lot of power to the patient but this is going to change sooner than later. “Electronic health records will help empower patients to take
Kenan Besirevic 1984 To begin, technology is both, a simple and complex advances that benefit humanity in one way, and hurt us in the other. I, on the other hand strongly feel that continuing advancement in technology is and will be beneficial to society. While other people can disagree, and probably bring up some good arguments in where the technology has done more harm than good, I still feel that the advancement of technology is inevitable. We, as humans are always in search of a way to make our lives easier and better. Since the beginning of time, human kind has been advancing in technology.
