These statements hindered my acceptance of the Beautiful and Wonderful Gospel of Christ. One statement was “God hates gays”, although, this is untrue there are plenty of Christians who will stand by this statement, and, by effect turn many away from the Gospel. The” don’t do as I do, do as I say”, hypocritical, actions of some has pushed many away. For example, someone who is committing fornication, yet, condemns a homosexual is enough for some people to react negatively to the Good News. The issues of historical events, such as slavery, the Crusades, and the Salem witch trials, all have some impact on why people deny the Gospel.
Some kids with special needs do not feel pain so to spank them would be pointless. When the child does not respond to the pain from the spanking the adult may get frustrated and the spanking may turn into anger and it can turn bad fast. Some children do things but can’t help it. No matter how many times you spank them you can’t stop them from doing it as they do not know they are doing because it is part of the
These terms appeared frequently and with high intensity, shaping a negative image of Malcolm X in the media. After Malcolm returned from Mecca, he announced that he no longer indicted the entire white race as racists and devils, and yet he was still connected with black supremacy. Other terms that cluster around extremist and appear in relation to Black Muslims and Malcolm X are enemy, confrontation, and bitter. These labels have implications of violence. Violence from a minority group against the white society is extremely disturbing to that population.
It also talks about how people view others differently if they have cut themselves before, or even gotten a tattoo. Self-mutilation and self-injury are the same thing in that people do something do themselves. However, self-injury is done because the people are afraid or have deep issues; whereas some of the people who self-mutilate themselves do it to makes themselves feel better. In the end both of these are serious issues which people need help with, which is what is trying to be put across in this
In the World State no one really grows up because the World State wants everyone to be happy and not experience pain which means no one loses their innocence. To grow up and become wiser, people need to get hurt and learn from
Stapleton tells us that many believe the concern over sexual violence is not as big a concern of racial problems. Stapleton throws us the idea that many hip-hop artists felt that hip-hop was being considered objectionable because white youth were consuming it. Stapleton uses this to reveal where a large amount of criticism is coming from in both racial and genre issues. Stapleton brings up a gathering of hip-hop artists and rappers showing us that serious discussions were being had about the genre and the changes in it. We see in Stapleton’s words how hip-hop has become a dangerous genre and how responsibility lies in the artists, managers, record companies, and parents when it comes to the music.
The Way People Use War in Their Words War words are used by many people now in days. People use War metaphors to compare things to one another. Some may get offended by the way we use them in a sentence because they may have relatives in the War, Navy ect . We need to change that because it shows people bad about our personality. War metaphors can also show people the wrong message thinking were the enemies and hate the country.
“ There is even an underlying element of self-hatred here, as individuals try to deal with their problems by doing violence to themselves.” A hole through the skin or a tattoo cannot erase the grief behind it, increase creativity, or redefine self-identity. Moreover, extreme body modification is considered obnoxious within the society. People tend to become uncomfortable around someone who has unappealing piercing all over their face or body. They are considered extremely censored and because of this “The US Navy has banned ‘tattoos/body art that are excessive, obscene, sexually explicit or symbolize discrimination.” Body piercing expresses the crisis of social identity but extreme body modification can also be harmful to oneself. People push themselves to do more and more of body modification because they believe that it is a symbol of self- respect for other people to notice.
Therefore, this novel is still relevant because we are still experiencing racism in different ways. An article about how racism and ethnic bias in the media is a serious problem, Elizabeth Llorente, a journalist was interviewed on how racism in the media is a serious problem and how it affects people all around. She explains that the African American reporters she works with have spoken “…about feelings of being unwelcome, especially when they’re covering white areas” (Llorente). This proves that even now in the modern world and in our everyday lives we experience horrible things like feeling like you don’t fit in because of race. Llorente also talks about how it all depends on you appearance.
I believe that there is no right or wrong way to discipline a child, but there is a right and wrong way to behave. Some children do not need as much discipline as the next child. It is the parent’s job to access what their child needs. I believe in spanking my children in the respect I was, along with
