The PTA works to enhance our student’s educational experience by sponsoring enrichment programs and social events, along with support for our classrooms through the purchase of select supplies and equipment, as well as providing an opportunity for parental/guardian involvement and enhanced communication between parents and school staff. Your participation is the key to our success. We invite you to get involved and be an important part of this educational experience. Studies have shown that parents who are active in their child’s education can improve schoolwork, test scores, and behavior.
This will be because the parent and teacher will be seen to be working toward the same ends, although at times from different perspectives. The school parental involvement policy provides a platform where every parent is to given equal priority and this consequently removes discriminatory and cultural barriers. The Benefits of Parental Involvement in Schools Parents’ help in the school is extremely valuable, whether it is within the class or to the school as a whole. Education research repeatedly documents that parent and community involvement in education contributes to students’ academic success. According to Henderson & Berla, (1995) & National PTA (1998) “When parents are involved, students achieve more, regardless of socio-economic status, ethnic/racial background, or the parents' education level”.
Sponsorships show the support of the school and the community which improves the overall image of the company the companies and is also able to raise awareness about new products and services and enhance their overall reputation. With a target audience of schools, kids from a young age will become
Secondly, children increase social and cognitive development from positive influences that are communicated by teachers. Emphasis around Vygotsky’s theory will explain the basis of social interaction facilitating learning with the benefit of good communication (Eggen & Kauchak, 2010). Thirdly, teachers must develop high level of written and verbal communication skills. This will develop good relationships between the teacher, student and family leading to proper educational practices that will improve student’s overall outcomes will enhance their literacy skill. Finally, educators with effective communication skills prove an ability to adapt teaching methods to suit the needs of students they are supporting (Kearns, 2012), and with appropriate delivery of good communication, student learning increases.
BEHAVIOUR AND DISIPLINE UNIT 10: Support children and young people’s positive behaviour. AIMS: It is one of the school’s main aims to ensure every member of the community feels valued and respected, and that everyone is treated fairly and well. The school endorses the five aims of the Every Child Matter’s Agenda and believes that all five aims can be achieved through this policy. The school also values inclusion and respect for disability. They strive to meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act and believe that their behaviour policy and school rules promote fairness, respect and consideration for all members of their community.
Visual Arts is important in primary schools, because visual arts are a class of art .Visual arts ‘’is said to be important in primary school’’ since it help children develop their intelligence, as well as the overall personality of students. In fact, studies have shown that students who exposed to visual arts tend to display above average intelligence, when it comes to mathematics and science. Likewise, students who greatly exposed to visual arts are observed to exhibit refined manners and develop a much-matured outlook on life. Most educators have also noticed that students perform better in class when visual arts incorporated in their curriculum. Moreover, visual arts provide meaningful self-expression of all students.
The reason for these policies are to promote positive behaviour and all schools have policies on : • Behaviour • Bullying • Child Protection • Equal Opportunities As a TA it is our responsibility to find out about the role of staff, rewards and sanctions and training. To develop a harmonious learning environment appropriate rules, need to be established and enforced, behaviour plans and most importantly pupils to be involved in the process. The message in this is to show the children that you can achieve great things even though you might have a troubled life. A lot of the children might relate to his personal stories and that can motivate the children into focusing in school and to think about their future. He uses examples in every area of his speech in order for the children to see how they can be more efficient.
n.d.). School Wide Positive Behavior Support programs are developed to help manage student behavior as individuals and as a school. These programs have behaviors which all students are expected to exhibit while at school including be responsible, be respectful, or be safe (Heward. 2013. p. 217). Children are rewarded when using this good behavior.
So, as I meet and greet every student by name each morning they are entering the Mrs. Freeman’s Happy Zone. This makes them feel special and lets them know I am happy they are there for the day. Students know from the very beginning of the year that only positive actions and learning occur in my classroom. There are numerous positive rewards offered in my classroom to encourage active learning. For example, I use a money system where I reward students for correct answers or participation.
