My Personal Approach to Learning Essay Evola Dawson Dr. Winchester, English Professor English 1013: Freshman English II Learning is imperative to life and in order for it to be effective, it must be affective. There are many ways that one can approach learning. My personal approaches to learning are practical examples, hands on, and open discussion. These are three ways that I have proven to be effective in my life as it pertains to learning. Practical examples are things that I can relate to that give me a clear picture of what is being taught.
I have become more studious and have placed a larger importance on my grades and how they impact my future. With the help from my guidance counselor thru the extra time my teachers take to help me when I’m struggling. I have realized my education is everything, being able to know things, will open my future. Bishop Noll is preparing me for college, to have a better future, and have a great career, to survive with using the knowledge obtained and the faith to carry on during the struggles in life. Graduating from Bishop Noll in 2017 is a goal I have to work for.
From completing the Career Interests Profiler and the Career Plan Building Activity: Competencies I was able to learn the strengths and weaknesses of my competencies but did not expect the results I received from the career interest profiler. Now that I know where my strengths and weaknesses in competencies are and I also know which areas I need to work on to improve. My results show that I am fairly level loaded with my strengths being delivering results, organizing, following instructions, goal focus, and coping with pressure however they are not as strong as I would like them to be. All of these competencies are needed to pursue my career goal of becoming the Operations and Supply Chain Manager within my company. Researching was rated a little lower than the others so now I know that I need to focus on making improvements in this area.
I see this as a way to encourage open dialogue between students and administration. Circulation does convey a purpose to students as well as staff. I believe the principal must create that climate for learning with openness and development of trust. Through this reflective process I realize that the principal did do the majority of the paper work after the students had departed from school. This commitment models the expectations for the staff and proves that I, as a principal, must strive to create a school culture that has a positive influence on life and learning in my school.
Tkiyah Clark Solomon Ortiz once said education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact of their students. High school teachers help prepare students for life after graduation (OutlookHandbook,3). They teach academic lessons and various skills that students will need to attend college and to enter the job market. Alternate job positions for people with a teaching degree include starting your own tutoring business, facilitating teacher training courses for a college or university, creating curricular materials for an education company or teaching home-bound kids (Watson,1). There are many prerequisites to becoming a teacher.
Now a freshman in college, teachers still praise me to use in (as well as students in my classes) in school projects, essays, and artwork to be as creative as possible. If anything teachers don't try to diminish creativity they encourage it! They give us constant exercises to practice the use of our creativeness. Sometimes they even reward a certain person in the class for the most creative piece of work by giving them extra
While I believe myself to be a dedicated, hard-working, and knowledgeable educator, I do rely on many factors to get me through the school year in regard to questions and concerns I may have. In the school

I feel that I am an excellent candidate for the Texas A&M University in Central Texas cohort program dedicated to preparing teachers to become tomorrow’s principals. I am attracted to the opportunity of maintaining my ability to work professionally as a Secondary Science Teacher in the local community and to continue my own knowledge in the field of Master of Arts in Education with a Principal certification.
Using a daily planner and prioritizing my responsibilities has helped me have the time to transition back to a student. Although every task is written, not all need to be done in the same day. Day to day activities can be very distracting but my schedule keeps me focused. Returning back to school and into the student role requires me to be successful in working in teams. Communicating with my peers helps me trusting in my team mates to be active in the learning experience.
Perez, Enrique English 1301.257 Caroline Mains March 30, 2014 A big part of one’s life may be attending school because that is what leads them to the career they wish to be in for the rest of their living. I have learned so much because of the challenges I have faced throughout my academic career. I have put up with crazy teachers, tough assignments, and my own uncertainty of things. To this day I am happy to say that I have gotten passed those things and will keep beating more problems to get to where I will be later in life. During my high school years, a big issue of mine was some of the teachers.
