Every so often taking a nice, long, luxurious bath can be just what you need. Your problems melt away in the warm, scented water, your muscles relax and all the tensions of the day disappear. So why are we often disappointed by the experience? It could be due to a number of things, from things that can easily be remedied through to a need to fully redesign your bathing area. Things that can easily be remedied are to do with making sure that the atmosphere is right. You don't want to be disturbed - even the thought of being disturbed is enough to ruin the atmosphere. So switch the telephone off, if it is going to be a problem. Another possible hazard is not having enough hot water. In households that have water tanks and lots of family members this is a real possibility. If this is your family then it is a good idea to think about the best time to take a bath so you are assured of lots of hot water. A real mood spoiler when bath time comes round is a slightly mucky bath tub. There's not much worse than a greasy or gritty bath against your skin. It can happen even when you keep the bath spotless on a daily basis if the other household members do not keep up your good work. It may help if you can ensure the family members each wash the bath out when they have used it - easier said than done, perhaps. Tiles and the grouting between them, and calcium encrusted taps, can be sorted out with the specialized products available these days. To get the mood right for relaxation you might want to light a candle or two, and maybe burn some essential oil - lavender helps a lot of people relax. Of course there are plenty of bath oils and creams that contain these nice, relaxing scents.
