Informal Report For Zinn’s Burgers and Pizza Written for Chris Pike By Erin Austin This report has been written to identify and address problems within the Ottoshaw branch of Zinn’s Burgers and Pizza. TMA01 Part I Part A – Problems Identified * Struggling to compete with larger fast food chains in the area Due to the problems listed below and an outdated image. * Staff behavior is unacceptable and morale is very low Staff are untrained and have very little respect for management .Those in management positions are inexperienced and not trained to lead a team successfully. * Rising food waste problems Ineffective supervision has allowed staff to take liberties with ‘formal’ benefits. * Falling sales and Rising costs Increased wastage caused costs to rise and the struggle against competition and poor staffing issues caused sales to fall. Part B – Use Concept SWOT analysis (cited in Preston, 2006) is a process in which a business can identify favorable and unfavorable internal and external factors to show how it can improve performance and achieve its key success factors. Using examples from the Zinn’s Burgers and Pizza case study in the SWOT analysis below, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats can be identified, which can then assist in realizing which threats or weaknesses are part of any addressed problems and whether any strengths or opportunities can be built upon to help overcome said problems.
