Jonathan D. Alberto Eng 111-119 K. Wooten Sept. 13,2011 Summer Memories My mother inherited a beach house when I was thirteen years old. I remember feeling sad about our loss, but also excited about our new opportunity. Having the chance to visit the beach as often as we wanted was something to look forward too. Over the summer we would visit once a month and twice during the winter. Our new house offered us the chance to enjoy the ocean and many other fun activities. The home was left to her by an uncle. Our new beach house was in North Myrtle. The home was around three or four miles from the beach and a mile from North Myrtle’s main road. With the opportunity to live so close to the beach my family and I tried to enjoy every second. Most mornings my family would wake up at eight or nine and walk to the beach. We would spend the morning swimming or walking on the beach. Living so close to the ocean was a very convenient opportunity. This convenience offered us the chance not only to spend the morning at the beach, but also the afternoon. Normally we would walk back to our house for lunch at around twelve or one. When we had finished lunch we would normally walk back to the beach until five. With our house being so close to the main road we were offered other forms of recreation. On the road there were many water slides and miniature golf courses. Our house was nearly beside one miniature golf course. Many evenings we would go to this course for a round or two. There were two or three other courses near our house as well. Some of the other courses were much more fun and challenging. We could also choose from many different water parks to play in. These parks had water slides which were very fun. The closest park had three gigantic water slides. You could see these slides from almost anywhere in North
