Leadership and teamwork Assignment 4 of 4 Written Report P5 Task 1) –British Army a) There are many different types of teams that have their own independent roles and have a certain set of skills that make them unique and important for the Team to be sufficient, also effective at tackling tasks and preventing Minimal losses. Although all the troops are required to undertake basic tests and have to obtain a set of standard skills, they can learn to develop specific skills in a certain areas to become a specialist. Sectional In the public services teams can be separated and put into sections. Each team which is split into a section is held responsible to do a particular task, For example; The British army have sections consisting of 8 soldiers: a Corporal, 6 soldiers and a Lance Corporal who is in charge of both within the small team. Regiment A regiment is a military unit, composed of numbers of battalions, commanded by a Colonel. A regiment can be broken down into two categories; One being an Administrative unit which is responsible for non – Operational management of battalions. Second being a deployable combat arm carrying from a battalion to a brigade sized formation. Depending on the nation, military branch, missions and organization, a modern combat resembles a brigade, in that both range from a few hundred to 5,000 soldiers (3 to 7 standard battalions). Multi- Disciplinary Within the public services there will be a group or a team of people who have varied skills to contribute to the achievement of the organization or towards a certain task for the group. The group works together to solve a problem or handle a situation that requires capabilities, knowledge, and training.
