Studying Abroad Today, millions of students travel to other countries for university study. As a result, many people fear that they are forgetting the importance of their own culture, and are being negatively influenced by foreign culture. On the other hand, many students believe that they can gain more experience by interacting with those with a background different from their own, and seeing a different way of life. Studying abroad has more advantages than disadvantages, but it comes with a price and many challenges. This essay will discuss the importance of studying abroad such as cultural exchange, self-reliance, and morals enhancement. One of the main advantages of being a student in another country is cultural exchange. There are some students who are afraid of getting negatively influenced by a new culture. However, many students who are studying abroad, myself included, must enjoy exploring the new cultures and the differences in people's lives. Not only must we be exploring new culture, but also we must take the positive things and ignore the negatives; for example we can learn how to organize our time, and enjoy studying and working; as a negative example, we don't have to wear their weird clothes. Secondly, Many students are afraid of living alone. In other words, they don't have self-reliance, they cannot do their daily duties such as doing laundry, cooking, and paying bills. However, self-reliance depends on the person. Many students are studying abroad and living their lives simply and with no problems at all, because they used to be independent in their lives before they traveled from their country. In addition, some students have become independent after they experienced living alone in another country; so we don't have to worry about it.
