I have experienced all of the fast food restaurants there are and I have noticed that throughout the past few years, there has been one thing that has changed drastically. Often sports teams may stop at MacDonald’s or Burger King on the way home from a sporting event, which is quite ironic, but it’s quick and easy and cheap—or so people may think. In, “Is Junk Food Really Cheaper?” Mark Bittman, claims that healthy food is actually cheaper than fast food. To help support his claim, Bittman uses many different rhetorical devices in his article.

There are many diets that become extremely popular almost overnight that could potentially hurt a restaurants business. An example of this would be the low carbohydrate diet fad that hurt a lot of restaurants as people cut bread out of their diets. When a family goes out to eat out at McDonalds, they buy meals that are extremely over portioned or "meals that can easily make up to half of their recommended daily intake of calories"(Brownlee 1). Restaurant's commercials appeal to the much younger generation. It makes them want to go eat there and usually get the toy that comes along with that Happy Meal. That's where parents need to step in and say no, instead of giving in and taking them to go eat since it's an easier option. When looking at the life on City Road (‘The Street’, 2009) and observing what happens throughout the course of a day, it is clear that the road is used by a variety of people for many different reasons. City Road has local shops up and down both sides, covering a large range of ethnic cultures. There are food shops, clothe shops, tailoring shops, a sport centre, which on the weekend turns into a market and local newsagents. Recently on City Road, a Tesco convenience store has been opened which to some has proven to be very popular and convenient but for others, it has made life quite difficult. Some of the local shops have been passed down through generations and a shop with such a large market chain attached to it has put many local businesses out of pocket.
A.S.A.P food is food that is processed as soon as possible and distributed as soon as possible. These companies compete for costumers daily in many different manners. So the question is why are people lead to the consumption of fast food in the first place? Some typical causes of fast food are the additive taste of the food, the advertising of food, the expense of the food, both parents are working, and longer hours at work. Everyday companies are trying to find new ways to keep customers at their restaurants.
Many government employed people get breakfast at City Café early in the morning or stop by for lunch to have one of their specials. Although the business focuses on fresh baked pastries and different types of coffee, the City Café is open all day and offers lunch or cocktail specials in the evening. City Café is a big restaurant with 150 seats, 25 additional at the night bar and 63 total employees. City Café is crowded most of the time and customers enjoy the European atmosphere and the delicious pastry and specials. (Moral and ethical issues) Since City Café caters to many government officials, it is imperative that all employees follow the strict guidelines of the company in regard to seeking special favors from any of these officials that they come into contact with on a daily basis.
