Strategic Management Assignment two What corporate strategy is the organization pursuing? In my view the corporate strategy pursued by Starbucks it to establish Starbucks as the premier purveyor of the finest coffee in the world while maintaining their uncompromising principle as they grow. I believe this to be the corporate strategy due to the principles that guides the decisions and actions of the company. These include the maintenance of a great and proven work environment for every staff member in its retail stores, as well as embracing diversity and in the way they do business, promising the highest quality for its products, satisfying customers and giving back to the community and the environment and persisting with profitable to ensure future success. What is the organization’s business strategy? I believe the business strategy is identical to the corporate strategy since the company is the single business company, focussing on only coffee-related products and retail stores. I believe the employees are provided a great working environment and are treated with respects by providing all employees who work more than 20 hours a week with health care benefits and stock options, this strategy is effective because it improves employee loyalty and also have the lowest highest level of employee retention of any comparable retailer. The company empowers its employees by allowing them to make their own decisions. Starbucks pride itself in providing customers with a unique product of the highest quality delivered with exceptional service. Starbucks coffee buyers travel to various coffee growing regions to select and purchase the highest-quality arabica beans. This is appropriate and effective because it establishes relationship between starbucks, farmers and a high quality product for customers.
