Ethical Decisions Regarding Organ Transplants Brinda Loupe American Military University Modern medicine has made many achievements, perhaps one of the most remarkable achievements is the ability to prolong a life by replacing one or more of their major organs. Many people wait years for a transplant, some may not receive one at all, due to the number of organs available is lower that the need or demand for them. Many families will reject the idea of organ donation in an effort to hold on to their loved one.
When he went home and told his parents, his father told him something that he would never forget, “Don’t let it make you feel you are not as good as white people. You are as good as anyone else, and you don’t ever forget it.” At age 15, Martin was accepted into Morehouse University and enrolled in college. When king was still in college, he was introduced to the teachings of the great Mahatma Gandhi. He was truly inspired by Gandhi’s nonviolent movement so he decided to start one to end segregation. My father was true believer of hard work and put himself through medical school. It seemed as though the Horatio Alger myth did not apply to my father. A man who was the youngest of ten children and with parents who had died when he was very young was determined to make it out on top. I have no recollection of these first months of my being but it was my grandparents that primarily took care of me, being that I was my mother's first child. The role of my grandparents would continue to play a huge role in my upbringing even though we were not even in the same country.
They spent a good amount in the store but it was just because they weren’t prepared. A few weeks after, Meredith was rushed to the hospital to give birth to her 8 pounds 7 oz. baby boy named Luke. A month later she had to attend the physician’s office to make sure everything was doing well with her and her infant. My Dream: Becoming a Pediatric Nurse Vincent S. at the time of his birth was barely more than a palm length at one pound, thirteen ounces. His mom reports not wanting to look at him, much less of picking him up. Today at 11 years old, with first class care and love, he is a 125-pound, four feet-nine inch tall chubby handsome New York fifth grader. The way I hear it, Vincent’s mom - my aunt, credits the hospital nurses with being the angels who helped to get the child through those very critical times. Stories like that excite me, because for those who know me, know that the number one thing in which I am passionate about and excel, is working with little children.

We help each other and work hard, at the crack of dawn for 18 weeks just to put on a 10 minute show during half time at the Varsity Football team, but is not just about the show, its having the sense of you having a second family, a home away from home.
