Spider-man is a fantastic adaptation of the comic book series that incorporates classic elements and enemies, to stay true to the ever-so-awesome comics, while bringing about new ideas, such as the biological web-slinging to add some pizzaz and all-around badassery to the film. This movie made Tobey Maguire who he is today in the film industry, and has scored him roles in other high-budget movies. Spider-man is, without a doubt, one of the best superhero films ever made. The film is gripping and refuses to let you go throughout the entirety of it. If you're a fan of the comics, or you just like superhero movies, this is a must see. In the past superhero movies have been very hit and miss. The first Superman movie for example, was quite good, though a little convoluted, but overall a decent movie. The second, though, was terrible, and recieved horrible reviews. The 3 hulk movies made in the past decade also had very varied reviews. Spider-man and its sequels have broken the mould and brought about something spectacular. Peter is tasked with defending the city of New York from a green masked man known as the Green Goblin, while still trying to juggle school and his social life. The movie has a few minor inconsistencies (where does he store all that web?), but for the most part, it's solid and entertaining. With $821.71 made million worldwide, it was 2002's third-highest-grossing
