Speech by senator Obama was well stated and open ones attention to his main in objective. His speech really had you wanting more. His introduction addressed issues dated as far back as 1789. Events that were fought still left to continue for approximately 20 more years. He also stated that all the stated in his speech challenges can be eradicated if everyone would work together. That is why he stated “We the people in order to for a more perfect union”. Senator Obama started to give a brief history to relate to his audience the rationale behind his thesis. This paved the way for the speech, because he highlighted a lot of grievances in his introduction that brought him to his thesis. The appeal to his logos is that he had been-----. Being a senator gave him the ethos needed. He really showed a lot of pathos especially when he was referring to his family and how racialism had effected families in America. His use of language was simple, he chose his words simple so even someone who wasn’t well educated can understand and comprehend. The organization of the speech flowed with each new point. By concluding with the episode of Ashley, he really showed how much people need to take into consideration there needs and not find ways to blame others for there short comings. If a child can see the need to try and help or curb a situation, why is it that we as adult or even prominent people in society cannot try too change a situation without holding someone to ransom? Eye contact with his audience was sufficient. There weren’t any visible visual aids. The tone of his voice showed compassion and sympathy. His notes were used very occasionally. The pitch of his voice was suitable for the emotion felt. He took time with his enunciation of words. His poster was good and his dress appropriate.
