They are the key to making his business a success, if your employees are happy there is no reason why your customers will want to come back and be serviced by them. Business Ethics and Social Responsibility Objective 310.2.1-05 Ethics is commonly defined as doing the right thing, a concept that, on its face, seems very simple and easy to accomplish. In the setting of business, however, ethics can become extremely complicated by the need to balance profitability, customer relationships, advertising, legal requirements for doing business, interaction within the community and a host of other issues which will arise before the business owners and managers.1 Given our example, the managers of the Company Q appear to be confronted with some of these issues. There is a basic need for any company to maintain profitability, or the ability to sustain and/or expand the business will not occur. It appears, from the example that the difficult decision had to be made to shutter two of their stores due to the profitability issues caused by operation within high crime inner city locations. Management also made the decision not to donate stale products to local charities, citing the potential for fraud and abuse should they do that.

It is important that companies find innovative ways to keep relations high between upper management and the employees themselves. Having good relations trickles down to improved services, improved production, and a happier work force. The best way that a manager / supervisor can do this is to be fair, be firm, and be a part of the team. Employees who have managers / supervisor who have been promoted from within a company and understands the job gives a morale boost when employees see that there are opportunities for them to "increase their status" Employees who have managers / supervisors who are hired " off the streets" sometimes feel resentments, due to the fact that they may feel as if the person is inexperienced. An employee's perception is everything, even if it may be incorrect.
Arthur may not be the best at managing others, which could make presentations or working on teams difficult. Arthur would not be the best choice to manage other workers, but he is an asset to the company because he has a positive attitude and likes his job. Arthur is a valued employee, and this positive state of mind could be good for morale. “Breaking down organizational goals into smaller more detailed task geared specifically toward the strength of an employee is an example of Management by Objection or the goal setting theory” (Pearson Education, Inc, 2011). As manager, I have decided that Arthur will serve the company well working in a position that does not require him to be in charge of any projects.
Happy and satisfied employees’ decreases the turnover rate within the office and also keeps the moral high. Continuing this shows the high level executives that the General Manager is doing well and optimizing his ability to lead. It is also important for an organization to work as a team. The general manager must know how to execute and communicate the same common goal to different groups. This is very difficult because in order for the team to feel as equally passionate about the common goal, the manager must communicate the goal in a way that makes each employee feel they are doing their part individually to achieve the common goal.
Companies will have an opportunity to choose among the best talent on the market. Without fictional unemployment people would tend to stay in their current jobs for life and create a stagnant system that could create a negative effect like subduing innovation. Fictional unemployment is also important because it matches the demand for workers with the supply from companies and helps bring equilibrium into the labor
As an employee of a company who thinks highly enough to aid in education and bettering oneself as a person, well, gracious seems to come to mind. Changing jobs and employers is not what people normally want to do, so giving them reasons to stay is all that it takes. At Donco, we believe that the continuous effort to assist in employee health and wellness is strategy that affords all to win. This leader can multitask and have a connection with employees to make a difference, which is the strength for this approach. The weakness will appear to be off in organizing, but this leader will recognize and make changes accordingly, so the organization is on the right track for success. The example of Herb Kelleher is a prime example of the behavior approach, and Southwest Airlines is a thriving travel business all because he put his employees first, because they can make or break a company’s ongoing prosperous future. Good leaders are made not born (Jago,
