South Park Influence on America Controversy over the show named South Park erupted ever since it aired on television back in 1997. South Park is an animated sitcom about four foul-mouthed children named Stan, Cartman, Kyle, and Kenny. The creators of the show are Matt Stone and Trey Parker. Due to the shows success it is now one of the highest rated shows on television. It also airs in more than a dozen countries.
And Saskia thinks that if Max found out who she really is, the most fantastic friendship of her life would be all over in an instant. What Saskia doesn’t know is that Max is really a 14-year-old geeky Londoner named Noah (Jack Blumenau), who transforms each night into ‘Max Hammer’ the hero in Noah’s online comic. Noah knows that if Indy ever learned the truth about him, she would run screaming. Through their avatars 'Max’ and 'Indy’, Noah and Saskia make a great team publishing Noah’s online comic strip. The animated Max and Indy interact with each other in a number of internet environments, but they also appear as ‘real’ people in the imagined projections of their characters.
The sound is loud, and for the most part has aged well. The mosh pit of noises that occurs in The Night Of The Living Baseheads is truly outstanding while still being listenable. Regarding the annoying sounds, it’s clear that Public Enemy doesn’t really care if you like it or not, it’s the fact that they dare you to not like it is what makes it listenable. And honestly I don’t think the ‘whistle’ sample of Rebel Without A Pause is as bad as the constant squeal sound in Don’t Believe The Hype. The other factor that takes away from this album is the two rock-rap songs, (She Watch Channel Zero!?
Family Guy is an animated comedy about the Griffin family, who lives in Quahog, Rhode Island. The show features several scenes of pop culture references and makes fun of every race as well as celebrities. Gender Socialization is very apparent within the script. Peter Griffin is the ignorant father who does crazy things whenever he wants to and somehow he always finds a way to justify his actions. Lois is Peter's wife, a stay at home mom with no patience for her family's crazy ways.
Family Guy: Funny or Inappropriate, or Both Family Guy is a cartoon show on T.V. that mocks events in the world that are going on today. Family Guy is well known for its incredibly frequent use of flashbacks where the episode switches from the main storyline to explain a previous event. Although they usually only last a few seconds, they provide hilarious (and often random) gags and contribute to the unfamiliar rhythm of the episodes. Many critics say that the show doesn’t really have a story line, and is just a bunch of one liner’s that are either hit or miss.
Mike Judge Highlights Absurdities in Words, Words, Words Words, Words, Words by David Ives is a comical play casting three monkeys in an experimental setting whose task is to type Hamlet in attempt to prove a certain theory correct. The theory is that “three monkeys typing into infinity will sooner or later produce Hamlet” (Ives 1633). This play reminds me of a favorite movie of mine called Office Space. Directed by Mike Judge, Office Space is a comical satire which points out the asinine mundane tasks associated with cubicle office work. Mike Judge fantasticly highlights the absurdities through his use of characters and blatantly obvious situations of pointless office work.
Amber Anardi Poe ENG 151019 2/14/12 South Park’s Effectiveness on Mocking Important Issues Society has taught us to avoid making a mockery of important issues, but what if a television series with a million count fan base, gets sky rocketing ratings by using impertinent humor on worldly concerns? The fact of the matter is that using disrespectful humor to present issues common to our generation gets the best ratings by the public. South Park is a leading example of effectively using profane humor to entertain and get a point across to its audience. Given the media hype of today’s age, many of our youth’s presumptions on important issues are influenced by what they see on TV; the show South Park showcases multiple outlooks on each issue therefore giving the viewer the opportunity to formulate their own opinion on the matter. South Park effectively enlightens viewers on concerns that are relevant to daily life, while keeping their attention through bold humor on the issue presented in the episode.
There are millions of different types of movies, and hundreds of different targeted audiences, but all of these movies have one thing in common-to catch the eye of their specific audience. Movies such as comedies, documentaries and dramas can have a negative effect on children of today’s society. The big screen movie Ted is a perfect example of a comedy bearing negative influence on its viewers and consumers. A marketing strategy used a lovable cute kid’s toy and turned him into a cursing, sex loving, marijuana smoking stuffed animal. This strategy was able to attract children of all ages to the movie theater to watch a cute little toy bear become a grown man’s best friend that leads to all type of negative behaviors.
The Amazing Spider-Man I chose the film The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) for movie review assignment. The series of “Spider-Man” is one of famous hero movie which is based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. As many people have, I really have been expecting and waiting for The Amazing Spider-Man to release for a long time since I love hero films and I would listen to music of Marvel Entertainment. The film is a reboot of the Spider-man film franchise which is portraying the character’s origin story and his development into a superhero by being shot in 3D. The director of the music in the film is James Horner who wrote the score for the film.
