We laughed thinking I guess the band finally made it. As we approached alligator alley our laughs turned to tears as we realized just what the warning signs had meant… we were not going anywhere for a while. Twelve hours that’s right twelve hours later on alligator alley we finally arrived on the Reservation. We saw the sun set and rise while sitting on alligator alley, however, we did meet some interesting people that we would laugh and share stories with allowing the time to go
I had heard reviews from this band from my friends, but I, myself, had expectations since I had never heard of this band. Everyone tells me what happens and how crazy they are but I did not fully understand what they meant until I went to this concert. Throughout the entire concert the band constantly surprised me with their production and made each song was better than the previous song. Each song seem to outdo the previous song that had just played. Overall this experience was one of the coolest things I have yet to experience.
October 12, 11 Cynthia Gannon 580 Broadway Lynnfield, MA 01940 Dear Nana: I truly enjoyed our interview on Sunday October 16, 2011 at your apartment. It was very interesting to talk about your generation and how it compares to mine today. As you and I were eating, the first and only topic that came up was music. During your generation, the only way of listening to music was records and record players. So, you would have to wait along time for new music because artists were producing new records.
It was estimated that about 50,000 people would show up to Woodstock but it was more like 200,000 people that actually did. There would come to be a shortage of food, toilets, and water but there was a freak out tent for people having bad trips. The first 50,000 people showed up early before they had put up the gates and they had no way of making them leave and many more people showed up not long afterwards that they had broken down the fences and Woodstock became a free music festival. Police then ended up having to turn away thousands of cars that were trying to get into the festival. People arriving in these numbers had not been planned for and the roads had just become makeshift parking lots where people abandoned their cars and walked the final distance.
Although it was very expensive it was very important or my dad to send me to a trip to Poland. I never heard the story of my grandfather from him, only through my dad. He was too unstable and my dad did not want him to relive those times. It is a two week trip to Poland with a Holocaust survivor that guide us through what he have been through, we been in all the museums, and the concentration camps. As we have watched the movie about the Holocaust in class all the images that I witnessed came back, I saw the gates with the in craving of "Work will set you free", the gas showers, and the gethos.
Unfortunately, Gerard was unable to both sing and play guitar at the same time, so he called on his friend , Ray Toro, a talented local guitar player, to help him. Ray was also very impressed with "Skylines and Turnstiles" and agreed to help as well . Now, the band had a guitar player, singer, and drummer, but they were missing a bassist. The obvious person to fill this position was Mikey Way, Gerard's younger brother who had always dreamed of being in a band. Mikey had never played bass before, but learned to do so specifically to be in his brother's band.
Ryan Bodine Instructor Barnes Eng 101/304 03 September 2014 A Night in Alcohol Hell It started as any normal day, until I found out everything about me was going to change. When I walked into Prosciutto’s Pub and Pizzeria that Saturday night I was expecting to deliver pizzas, instead I walked into an agitated group of bar patrons. The bartender had not shown up and the owner, Joel Pyffer, was looking to me to fill his shoes. It was my big chance! My first night as a bartender, I encountered chaos like no other; luckily my ability to keep calm would teach me a lifelong lesson.
Later when their band spread around they received the description of “snobbish soul band.” Bluesology had many offers to be signed to a lot of record companies. After trying to become a lead singer for quite some time and not getting what he wanted, John quit the band and decided to go solo. He has always wanted to be a lead vocalist but seemed to always get shot down in every opportunity
This is a tough job for an aspiring Buddhist. Who knew that working for a few hours at such a place could spur such feelings of general hate for people—overall, misanthropy? The Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet, the big wall at the entrance that was once used as a drive-In movie screen, now painted blue with a lame clip-art beach scene, promises bargains and fun, but it’s been my own personal Hades for more than a decade. For one: the weather. There is never a nice day here at the swap meet during the summer.
As the cabbie gets paid his fee, we scamper across the street with a slight bounce in our step, and turn the corner to find our favorite pre-game bar. The Cubby Bear is an everyday sports bar until the game arrives. Then, the spacious building, wallpapered in Cubs jerseys and old photographs, becomes alive with fans, scalpers, and tourists. The pre-game show is on every television in the bar, beer is tumbling out of the taps, and everyone is friends with everyone. Round after round comes to our table and we talk to anyone we can about how exciting today’s game is because every game is a big game for Cubs fans!
