It was the time when technology had begun to make an impact on the lives of people in India. Hence engineering with Electrical and Electronics as my major was the first choice for my undergraduate studies. I have travelled a lot in rural India during my undergraduate course where I used to see high voltage transmission lines crossing the agricultural land and to the notice I saw that villages nearby don’t have electricity, no roads, vast agricultural land where villagers were still dependent on rain water for irrigation and likewise. With the advancement in communication and mobile phones reaching every house in villages, it can play a vital role in rural development.
