President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III has big plans for the Philippines. These plans will make the Philippines better. These plans will make the Philippines move forward. These plans will help for the brighter tomorrow of the young Pinoys and Pinays.
Last July 26, 2010, President Aquino delivered his first State of the Nation Address or SONA. He identified the problems or the system of the last administration. Take for example the benefits of the MWSS Board of Trustees and Board Committee. They receive Php14 000 and they are still given incentives and bonuses yet they have not paid the pensions of the retirees. Another thing he mentioned was the problem regarding the NFA. They imported a lot of rice (metric tons) that is triple the need of every Filipino and what happened was the rice got rot. These practices or doings, for me is unbearable. There are Filipino people who cannot eat three times a day and yet others just let their food rot. There are Filipino people who are working hard but they are not paid well. Problems like this are what President Aquino wants to change. He proposes the Zero –based budget approach wherein the budget will address the real problem of the country. He wants to speed up the solution on extralegal killings therefore a Truth Commission shall be created headed by the previous Chief Justice Hilario Davide. He also proposed public-private partnership that will help our need for infrastructure, education, health, military and police funding and many others. He proposes Peace talks will be done especially in Mindanao.
For me, President Aquino’s SONA is a challenge to every Filipino citizen. He identified the problems and laid down solutions. He challenges every Filipino to start sacrificing for the betterment of the Philippines. He wants Philippines to move forward and to be united.
