An example of defiant individualism are gangs that are capable of producing benefits for their members and other people in society, they as well work in their rank, and regulating leadership. He also goes on explaining gangs in times of immigration and how these communities have developed in the Unites States. Some of the gangs that are brought from other countries are like Chinese and Vietnamese which they have a long history of gangs in their own societies prior to immigration. These gangs are involved in drug trafficking and gambling. The article continues on by trying to see what gangs are involved with and their progression of consuming or selling drugs and to sharpen their power to not only the society but to their competitors against the other gangs.

Teenagers are intrigued by the lifestyle of the gangsters and are most likely drawn to them like magnets, they will hang with them to try to prove their allegiance. This paper attempts to explain the reasons behind Kody Scott’s delinquent behavior and why he decided to live the life of a gangster. The numerous strains and obstacles placed in Monster Kody’s path cannot be attributed to the reasoning of a single theory. The combination of theories of delinquency that best explains Kody Scott’s life is the social disorganization theory, the differential association theory, and the social learning theory. By exploring Kody Scott’s delinquent behavior it is possible to understand similar individuals’ reasons for committing delinquent acts. Distinctions The patron – client system is a cluster of lawbreakers who trade knowledge, set up a system of elements of relationships with governmental and authorative bosses and gain access to a chain for the intention of helping group’s customers both politically and economically. The patron – client system commonly constructed using a ruling body strategy and made up of one dominate boss, a consultant, and other individuals. As explained in item a, the labelling theory explains how actions become labelled as criminal or deviant. The labelling theory explains how crime and deviance is a social construct as the laws and norms are constructed by society. The theory can be seen as useful in explaining crime and deviance yet this can be disputed. First of all, the labelling theory aims to answer the question, why and how people get labelled. One researcher found that police made decisions on whether to arrest youth based on their physical cues.
In his essay, “Video Games Are Responsible for Increased Youth Violence,” author Ron Moten uses his experience working with troubled teenagers to uncover the negative effects of violent media. The problem he identifies is that violent media is responsible for desensitizing youth to violence, hence increasing crime in our society. Motten assumes his readers are educated and sympathetic, but uninformed of the threats posed by violent media. His purpose in his essay is to raise awareness of a connection between violent media and increased crime in society and to convince the audience that violent media needs to be regulated by laws. To achieve his purpose, Moten mainly uses ethos to appeal to his readers.
