As a young man Capone held many odd jobs from a candy store clerk to a bowling alley pinboy. His Nicaraguan associates Normin Meneses and Oscar Blandon were right there along side Ricky unleashing a crack wave, which urban America still hasn’t recovered from. Known simply as “Freeway” Rick, he started as a poor illiterate high school dropout from south central Los Angeles. Ricky was a talented tennis player and had hopes of one day playing on the college level. When Ricky’s coach realized he couldn’t read or write his college scholarships went out the window.
Much of Frank Lucas’s childhood life explains his motivation for living a life of crime. When he was 12 years old he witnessed the death of his cousin by the KKK for looking at a Caucasian woman in Greensboro, North Carolina (American Gangster True Story). Being young he was committing petty crimes until he engaged in a fight with his employer. He fled to New York where he drifted through petty crimes and pool hustling until gangster Bumpy Johnson took him under his wing. After Johnson’s death, Lucas broke the monopoly that the Italian mafia held in New York.
Malcolm goes ahead and moves to Harlem, NY. Malcolm learned the ways of Harlem, and went out most nights to dance, drink, and smoke marijuana. Malcolm moved to a rooming house ran by prostitutes. He learned a lot about the psychology of men from the prostitutes, but it eventually came to an end when he referred and undercover military agent to a prostitute, and had the hostel closed. 
 Malcolm lost his job and home, and began dealing marijuana to jazz players with his partner Sammy the Pimp.
This was done at the time when prohibition was at its highest. During the 1920’s, “Al joined the James Street Gang, a tough street gang of teenagers and kids run by Johnny Torrio who would himself become a founder member of the Chicago Mob(1). Capone was then asked to work with Torrio’s uncle who was a major part of the cities prostitution and gambling rings. This movie was produced by Ridley Scott and was brought to theatres November 2, 2007. The main character in this movie is a man named Frank Lucas, played by the great Denzel Washington. Frank Lucas was a limo driver-turned-right hand man for a man by the name of Bumpy Johnson, an American mob boss in Harlem, New York. One day while in a store, Bumpy Johnson died of a heart attack.
Theme: Clockers The movie Clockers, by Spike Lee, took place in the projects of a Brooklyn, NY. Striker (Mekhi Phifer), the main character, runs the street doing petty drug deals for the local drug lord Rodney. During the movie, Rodney and Striker meets up and start another drug dealer, Darryl Adams, who Rodney thinks is stealing from him. So Rodney persuades Striker into killing Darryl. But Striker did not the heart to takeout Darryl his self, so he when to his brother, Victor, to do the job.
