Families, along with their children, are the program” (Menza-Gonzalez, 2009). Educators who understand child development in perspective to family and community rely on competency to organize an early childhood program which incorporates effective developmentally approved practices which incorporate family and community into the “whole child” approach. “School readiness is, of course, a concern for everybody, but professionals with a child development back-ground often come at it from a different angle than some other professionals and families by recognizing that social-emotional development is vitally tied to cognitive development” (Menza-Gonzalez, 2009). Socially, a child learns to relate to family, peers, teachers and other members of the community through a range of human emotions, interactions, and transitions over the years of development. Day-care with a good quality of caregivers teaches the children to interact or socialize with their peers, helps them to acknowledge and learn new things and also helps a child to be prepared for elementary school. First of all, children learn to socialize wisely with each other; such as making friends, forming groups on their own and even
April 25, 2013 To: Kristin Williams Staffing & Talent From: Visit with Stepping Stone School Round Rock This being my first visit to a Stepping Stone School my expectations and standards were at level of prior pre-school facilities that I have worked at and visited it. When I entered into Stepping School at the Round Rock location the facility created a new level of child development standards. My first impression was that this isn’t a typical “cookie-cutter” style school. The facility layout and design created a much higher level of professionalism and learning opportunities for students. Security is one of the priorities of the school allowing more focus on teaching and student learning.
*Sharing assembly-For the children to shoe what their have been learning. *Open door morning-So parents can let teacher know any thing about the child e.g. may have had a full the day before. 4. Know the laws and codes of practice that affect work in schools.
The diagram below gives examples of the areas of learning and development and shows the links between the way in which your child learns and what they learn. As a mum or dad, how can I help with my child’s learning? All the fun activities that you do with your child at home are important in supporting their learning and development, and have a really long lasting effect on your child’s learning as they progress through school. Even when your child is very young and is not yet able to talk, talking to them helps them to learn and understand new words and ideas. If you make the time every day to do some of the following things with your child it will make a real difference to your child’s confidence as a young
ESE 315 WEEK 5 JOURNAL POSITION STATEMENT ESE 315 Week 5 Journal Position Statement, As I read the statement in “Early Childhood Inclusion: A Summary”, I came up with the conclusion of what the creation of a sense of belonging and membership, positive relationships and reaching full potential means when working with all young children and families. First, I would make sure that my classroom environment accommodates all my students and the parents feel comfortable with their child in the environment also. Throughout my teaching career and working with all children and families I have discovered that the best therapy a child can have is from their peers, therefore making the classroom environment as confident and warm as possible has always been a key and success for me. I have always had a classroom where all kids were included and this made all my students more peaceful and kind to one another and vey proud in their work and others as well. Since, I have been thinking of different ways of creating environments, seeing children’s strengths, abilities, and communicating with families during this class, I am going to briefly discuss two things I plan to implant in my professional experience.
when they started babbling or when they took their first steps. This is so the child’s key person can get a clearer view of what the child’s likes and dislikes are and where to start for planning for the child. • Key Worker System – There is a key worker system in place in the setting. This is to ensure that all individual children’s needs are met on a daily basis. This also helps the parent feel more settled and reassured that the child is getting looked after to a high standard.

As a key person I have key children who I monitor day to day. As I do this, I like to meet regally with their parents to update their progress and development. I also believe sharing information with my room manager is very important because, If I am absent from work one day and one of my key children are in, there may be a chance she doesn’t know certain needs that require for the child. I also think when talking to a child I would speak in a calm and kind manner, to encourage the child’s self-confidence and to help them behave sensibly. It will help build a relationship with the child and for them to be able to trust me and become more openly about any problems they may have.
The early educuation center provides take home reports, end of trimester grades on basic skills, a enteractive day where parents sit in class. And they also provide a call home to let parents know how much the child is progressing. The types of information that parents provide to teachers and directors in this center are: special needs reports, allergy reports, medical statements, attachments and developmental statements. Yes all the questions were successfully answered, this interview helped me understand the way a day-care opperatate it every kind of way. I also learned that there are a lot of different types of families.
