Mobilicity, anew Canadian wireless telecommunications provider, was founded in Vaughan, Ontario. Its name is a “portmanteau of the words ‘mobility’ and ‘simplicity’"(Wikipedia, 2012).Privately-owned Mobilicity, which is “formerlyknown asData & Audio Visual Enterprises Wireless”,dedicated to offer a smarter and simpler way for people to usetheir mobile phones(Canada Newswire members, 2012).“Unlimited talk, text and data plans, affordable North American coverage, plus popular mobile devices and smartphones – without ever having to lock into a nasty contract”(Wikipedia, 2012).Like a lot of wireless providers, Mobilicity depends on and partners with other established companies, which from US or other counties. Outsourcing is one reason why they can offer competitive prices and packages.
Analysis of the company’s policies on CSR and sustainability
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an important issue for a company. In my opinion, CSR is about how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society.Based on this interview, I found Mobilicity has lots of good policies and activities on it. I could represent my research and analysis on 3 parts, which are the employees, customers, and society.
Mobilicity has some policies to support their recruitment and retention system. In the current situation, which within the competitive market, it is difficult for people to get a satisfying job. However, many of jobs need some qualifications or professional skills.
