Social Psychology
      When I hear social psychology, I automatically think of how we are all influenced by those around us. This paper will help us understand exactly what the definition of social psychology is. As well as learn the differences between social psychology clinical psychology, psychology and social psychology. It will cover some of the research methods used to study social psychology, and some of the challenges that come about when studying social psychology.    
        Social psychology is a scientific study. In 1898 is when the first social psychology experiments was conducted. Social psychology explains how people in society are influenced by one another, how they relate to one another and what they think of one another (Myers, 2010). Social psychology puts focus on an individual and uses experiments. Social psychology studies social thinking; such as our perception of others and ourselves, social influence; such as culture, pressures to conform and groups, social relations; such as prejudice, aggression and attraction and intimacy (Myers, 2010). It is proven that all humans have the desire to feel connected, socially. An individual's influences, and perception will all show in one's attitude and behavior. It is social psychology that gives the answer to why humans think and feel as they do.
        As we already learned that social psychology puts focus on how individuals are influenced by one another, and our perception of one another. The differences between clinical psychology,   psychology and sociology. Clinical psychology focuses more on the mental state of an individual, when one has a mental health disorder. A clinical psychologist will perform an assessment to diagnose the patient properly for either a mental or emotional disorder. Clinical psychologist covers a broad area such as eating, sexual, anxiety, or just ill health disorders. Sociology builds on concepts such as social structure and organization (Myers, 2010). The...
