The human mind works in mysterious ways. It thinks independently about certain situations and subjects but in actuality it thinks similarly to the rest of the world. Everyone fears judgment! Stating a simple opinion, wearing different clothes or even owning a different type of electronic device that no one else has contributes to that fear. Acceptance is all humans want. No one likes to be an outcast but sometimes the worlds opinions are not something we should be agreeing with. Most individuals do not have much of a lead role in their lives. They go by what they see and hear throughout their lives and do not seem to explore far from their roots. We as individuals all look different and have our own opinions and tastes but what we have in common…show more content…
Depending on whom a person has as friends and peers result in the same thing and this contribution will stay the same throughout our lives. In order for ourselves to be happy and feel like we mean something to this world we need self-approval. Mark Twain has stated “self-approval is acquired mainly from the approval of other people.” The power of self-approval is significant in our lives because we need that little boost of confidence to live our lives. Without self-approval our lives would never be as easy as they are. We have someone to help us make a good decision that will not make us feel out of place. “Our actions tend to be determined by our ability to please others.” (Elkaim) We want to be able to fit in and be happy with our choices and that is the reason we seek approval from others. Judgment is our biggest fear. If we do not get approval from anyone, the decisions we make could make us a target to a inconsiderate person and I believe that would change our perspective forever. In my opinion, it would be too big of a risk to go out in the world without having a good comment to help you do what you want. Even if someone does judges you, you will have the positive comment your peer said, which heals the remark made beforehand much easier to
