According to the National Cancer Institute, “ Staging describes the severity of a person’s cancer based on the original or primary tumor and whether or not cancer has spread in the body” (2013). There are many ways to stage cancer and one method that is commonly used is a numerical system of one, two, three and four. The fist stage of cancer is when the abnormal cancer cells are isolated to the layer of cells from which they began. When caught in this stage, the prognosis is usually good. Stage two cancer is when the abnormal cancer cells are limited to the organ it started from and has no evidence of metastasis.
BCC affects up to two million Americans each year. Those who are at high risk to get Basil Cell Carcinoma are people with fair skin, light-colored eyes, Blonde or red hair freckles and who are easily sunburned. Also if it runs in the family you are more likely to inherit it also. Patients that are diagnosed with this type of skin cancer, have a 35% chance of developing another tumor within three years, and a 50% chance within five years. Basil Cell Carcinoma can be associated with scars, vaccinations, or even Tattoos.

Studies show that UVB rays are responsible for this effect.
The ultimate goal of radiation is to damage or kill the cancer cells without hurting the healthy cells. (http://www.webmd.com/cancer/what-to-expect-from-radiation-therapy) There are two types of radiation therapy. The most common therapy is called external beam radiation and it is the type that most people are familiar with. It works by focusing a beam of radiation directed at the specific area of the body that is affected by cancer. The other type of radiation therapy is called brachytherapy.
Melanoma is a form of skin cancer. There are three types of skin cancers. All three types of skin cancers have been found on my family members. All three types are 100% curable if treated early. The first is Basal Cell Carcinoma.
Introduction The purpose of this paper is to discuss pancreatic cancer and explain how it plays out as a terminal illness. This paper will provide statistics about the occurrence of pancreatic cancer in the United States of America. Also, information will be provided on the warning signs of the illness, known causes, how it is treated and statistics related to the illness. Pancreatic cancer is listed as one of the top five causes of death among men and women. Pancreatic cancer is diagnosed in around 28,000 Americans each year (Mayo Clinic, 2012).
One of the most common sources of metastatic liver cancer is from tumors of the colon and rectum. About 140,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with colon cancer each year, and roughly half of these patients will develop tumors in their liver at some time. About one in 10 of these patients will have a chance for a cure by having the liver tumors removed surgically. The exact cause of liver cancer is unknown. But there are certain things called risk factors that can increase your chance of getting the disease.

Blood must pass through the liver in order to access cancer cells.
There are many different types of cancer that affect people every day. One cancer that affected my family was stomach cancer. With every cancer come responsibilities and factors to keep under control such as knowledge of that cancer, its impacts, symptoms types, diet and many more. The basic form of any cancer begins in cells, which are the building blocks of tissue. Cells grow and divide and form new cells as the body needs them.
For extensive-stage small cell lung cancer treatments could be: combination chemotherapy and radiation, radiation therapy to the brain, spine, bone or other parts of the body where the cancer has spread, to relieve symptoms and improve quality of life, and clinical trials of new ideas. Treatments for the recurring small cell lung cancer could include: chemotherapy, radiation therapy as palliative therapy, laser therapy, stent replacement, internal radiation and clinical trials by checking out the NCI website for general information on cancer cells.
