S.W.O.T. Analysis Strengths: 1. Skagen Design frequently release new and update designs keeping current customers interested in their products and attracting new customers with new designs. 2. Skagen’s fast pace of growth, the company has been listed as one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S.A. by publications such as Inc. Magazine. 3. Skagen Design watches have a relatively high product recognition with their watches launched in popular magazines such as vogue, sponsorships of popular T.V. shows such as Ally McBeal and use of outdoor advertising such as billboards. Weaknesses: 1. The limited range of products Skagen Design produce limit the revenue and profit the company can make. 2. With watches only available in mainly Europe and North America Skagen design doesn’t have the global reach of most of its competitors. 3. Skagen Design is only a small company in comparison to its competitors with the company only employing 100 employees. Opportunities: 1. Entering into emerging markets such as China and India where there is a growing appetite for consumer goods. 2. Expanding the product range by designing products such as fashion accessories and home furnishings could increase business and the company’s profile. 3. Making an online store available would increase the availability of products potentially increasing sales. 4. Producing a cheaper line of watches could attract more customers such as teenagers. Threats: 1. Many large competitors to compete with such as Calvin Klein, Gucci and Swatch, who have much larger resources than Skagen Design, 2.
