Associate Level Material Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet Part 1 For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions. Physical health: Some characteristic are: body size and shape, sensory acuity and Responsiveness, physical fitness and body functioning. These are just some of the important dimension of having a healthy life. Exercising regularly while keeping a healthy diet, as well as getting enough sleep are all ways to help your physical health. All because one is physical fit doesn’t mean that their now hurting in a different way. The best thing a person can do is become well rounded and balanced in all six dimensions, only then can one be a truly a healthy individual. Social health: Some characteristic include interactions with others and adapting to society, basically if you’re a people person. Having a healthy social life is based on healthy relationships based off of things such as trust, respect, compassion and acceptance. Self-esteem is a very important with social health. Intellectual health: Some characteristic include the ability to think clearly, or making responsible decisions. Intellectual health is linked to a personal’s emotional and physical health. If someone thinks clear and keeps a positive mental attitude. One can improve or sustain your mental health by engaging in brain stimulating activities. Environmental health: One can appreciation of the external environment and understand the role that everyone plays to improve, protect and preserve the environment for future generations to come. This doesn’t just involve the rain forest and things of that nature or even your environmental footprint. I
