Associate Level Material Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet Part 1 For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions. Physical health: My children and I like to stay active so we enjoy going on at least 2 walks a day. Exercising promotes more than just physical health, but we enjoy activities that get our hearts going. Social health: We enjoy our weekly family Sunday fun day. We also like to do playdates with other moms and children so that we all get our socialization and stay involved in the community events around the area. Making new friends that are also something we strive for. Intellectual health: I like to take the afternoon while the children nap to clear my head and just relax for a while without any distractions such as TV or other outside noise. If I have alone time without the children I like to go to the marsh and take a walk alone to just reflect upon life. Environmental health: To name a few things I enjoy to clean my home so we have an environment that is free of clutter and dirt. I also enjoy working on the yard work. While at the park I find myself picking up trash while the children play. Emotional health: My children and I practice what we call the emotional talk. We like to state how we are feeling a few times throughout the day so we can all express ourselves in a healthy manner. Spiritual health: I enjoy mediation at the end of my day. I helps me connect with the earth and myself at the end of each day. I may not pray to a certain god, but it allows me to relax along with connecting with myself in a spiritual way.
