Police is a hard-working, dangerous career. In terms of the Thai police, they are infamous for taking bribes, supporting illegal businesses, and committing crimes themselves. Because of this, they are paid highly enough, and their dirty additional incomes are higher than the normal income of being a policeman. Therefore, it is unreasonable to provide more money for those who are the police. Why? It is because of the three reasons below. Admittedly, some police officers are working so hard that they have only a little time taking a rest. They hope to be paid more than they are being because those who do this job need to risk their lives performing many hard tasks, and what they are doing is sometimes very dangerous. They need more incomes to compensate the danger that they encounter. However, that is just a few numbers of the policemen, while a majority of the police earns more money from supporting illegal business. As it is reported on the media, some high-ranked police officers are believed to be the heads of a black market or the leaders of illegal organizations. In addition, many of them are involved in human trafficking, drug and gun trading, and gambling. Is it worth increasing their salaries? The answer is not. Moreover, almost all of the police receive extra money under the table. It can be seen in everyday life. In case of traffic police, those who are in a hurry sometimes ignore the yellow light, but the police try to accuse the violators of breaking the law. It is commonly known that if the law-breaker attached a red banknote with a driving license, the police officer would take only the red banknote and let the driver go.
