Overview: In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus calls us to live out the 8 beatitudes (5:3-12) as we pursue 100-fold obedience (5:48), as we resist 6 temptations (5:21-48), and pursue 5 kingdom activities (6:1-18) that position our hearts to freely receive more grace. We do all this with confidence in His rewards (eternal/temporal 6:19-24) and His provision (6:24-33).
Instead of saying that the priest might say ‘Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ’/ The Lord be with you and the people reply ‘and with your spirit’. All of this means the same thing. The next thing he says is ’Peace be with you’, this means that let you live with no disturbances and let the load help you for you to keep away from the devil. ‘Brethren (brothers and sisters), let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries’. This is also said by the priest so we can remember what we did wrong and let the load forgive you.
Jesus stayed focused on their spiritual needs. He made sure not to get sidetracked; He had one thing He was focused on and that was their need for eternal life. Jesus was patient; He knew when the time was that He needed to speak up and lead into a dialogue that leads to the truth. He points out their sin in their lives, showing them they have sin and that they are lost. At first the disciples did not cross any barriers to spread the gospel.
Final Reflection Essay Throughout this semester I have learned so much about God and His plan of salvation. I learned that in order to have salvation you must have an excellent relationship with God. You also must obey God and avoid all temptations from the devil and the world around us. I learned that God is love and that holiness is one of His qualities. Lastly, I learned that God will always love and forgive us.

God designed the Old Testament sacrificial system as a way of atonement for sin but it was no longer needed because Jesus paid the price for sin once for all time and for all people. Many believers do not count the cost of following Christ. One is told to accept the free gift of eternal life, repent of sins, join a church, and then learn to do the best one can concerning all the rest. One is usually not told about the cost of being a Christ-follower, nor does one have much of an idea of what God expects of them now that they are saved. Stewardship is entirely based on the first commandment, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Holy Bible, NIV, Mat 22:37). Stewardship is the product of one’s new worldview that is brought about by one’s conversion.
